Jim Furyk has found form recently with an impressive T-4 at the Deutsch Bank. Since the Open at St Andrews he has finished 4th at the Canadian Open, T-3 at Bridgestone, T30 at the PGA, and T-11 at the Barclays. 5 tournaments in the top 30 is strong and Furyk is in a prime position to strike here.
3rd place at the Deutsch Bank may have been a surprise to many but Charley Hoffman is far stronger than the 40/1 odds suggest. 11 top 10's this year, one victory on the PGA and hitting form at the right time. Currently 6th place in the FEDEX, Hoffman, needs to banish one dodgy round that he can usually have in the course of 4 days.
When Bubba Watson is good...he is awesome! A firing on all cylinders, all guns blazing, Bubba, will dominate. However, when he's bad he's really bad. Which Bubba will turn up? At 18/1 I'm prepared to take a punt.
Outsiders for the week are Bae, Horschal, and Palmer.
Sang-moon will be eager to do well before the season ends and he begins his National service for the South Korean Army. A strong T-6 at the Barclays recently could be a possible surprise and at 125/1 has to be worth a bet EW.
Although Billy Horschal may not have started too well in the play offs I wouldn't let that bother you. Last year he won this event from no where and went on to win the FEDEX cup. Can he do it again this year? Probably not but at 80/1 he could keep things interesting.
Result: A frustration for Golfhacker. Matsuyama one shot away from a E/W pay out. Bubba T-10th and so close too. Furyk withdrew due to a wrist injury. ARRRRGGGHHHH!
