Whilst the Abu Dhabi Golf Championships will undoubtedly steal the headlines, there is of course, other golf tournaments going on to. The PGA Tour has the CareerBuilder Challenge going on, and there are some big names playing. Here are Spiv’s ones to watch.
Patrick Reed 10/1 (ToteSport)
Reed is on fire at the moment and these are the best odds available for him. 2nd at the Hero Challenge, 2nd at the Tournament of Champions and a fine end to his European Tour season. With Spieth off playing in Abu Dhabi he is now the strong favourite on this form.
Zac Johnson 20/1 (Betfred)
The Open Champion came T-9th at the Sony Open and seems to have his new PXG clubs settled now. A strong player who you underestimate at your peril. With many top names playing in Abu Dhabi he has carefully chosen this tournament and sees it as a good opportunity. 20/1 is great for the Each Way.
Jason Dufner 45/1 (Betfred)
Dufner’s past three results are as follows. 9th at the RSM Classic, 1st at the Franklin Templeton with Snedeker and T-9th at the Sony Open. Not too shabby from Duffs. Looking good and looking healthy. 45/1 is a great price for him given the field.
Bill Haas (28/1 (Bet365)
Defending champion, has won it twice. Even lost in a play off to come 2nd. Haas likes it here and feels comfortable on it. Came T-5 at the Hero Challenge recently. Great price for defending champion in good form.
Zac Blair 66/1 (Coral)
Momentum is an underrated trait when it comes to golf. Fresh from his 3rd place at the Sony Open, Blair could really kick on after a performance like that. 66/1 after a performance like that is interesting...and definitely worth thinking about for Each Way bets.
