Golfhacker replaced GolfPunk Magazine's Golf Spiv to give their readers a few tips for the WGC-HSBC Champions in China. Needless to say it's a big deal for us. You can read the full article here:
It's moving day at the WGC-HSBC Champions in China tomorrow. What do we love about moving day?...well movement of course. When it comes to placing a bet, today is the day to do it. Be warned though...once you get to this point, your each way bets pay less, for less. Most will pay 1/5 up to 4th place rather than 1/4 for up to 5th place.
As Kevin Kisner holds a two shot lead at the WGC-HSBC Champions in China you would be forgiven to think that he should now pull away from the field. At least the bookies think so placing him as 9/4 on to win. True, he has been impressive so far but how many times have we seen a lead slip? Kisner's history certainly doesn't bode too well given that he is yet to win an event. Maybe...just maybe it will be someone in the chasing pack that you should put your money on.
With moving day coming tomorrow expect some players to put on a challenge. Some of the odds out there may tempt you.
The round of the day did not come from Kevin Kisner...It came from Russell Knox who shot a -7. He's currently in 2nd position only two shots behind Kisner. Boyle Sports have him at 8/1. If they shoot similar rounds tomorrow then Knox will only be one behind...at 8/1 he has to worth a couple of quid to win.
Bernd Wiesburger is currently at 25/1 on Ladbrokes and 30/1 at Betfair. He may be six shots behind Kisner but both shot a -6 today. It will only take a 3 shot swing for Wiesburger to catch up with Kisner. Tempting indeed.
One shot behind Weisburger is Matthew Fitzpatrick. Winner of the British Masters and having a cracking season so far. Plus when it comes to moving day...he moves! Unibet are offering 50/1 for him to win. 1/5 of 50/1 on him getting in the top 4...entirely do-able as he is only 2 shots behind 4th place. Food for thought.
For people who like to bet Each Way you will need to get your player in the top 4. This will include Ties. This is the real area to try an outsider. At 1/5 odds a 100/1 outsider should get you 20/1 if they come in the top 4 and there is plenty to chose from.
Willett worth a go at 100/1?
Danny Willett and Kiradech Aphibarnrat are currently 100/1 and both T-19. These could make a push tomorrow and possibly break into the top 4 come Sunday. Tommy Fleetwood is one position better at T-13 and also 100/1. Although these guys may be unlikely winners now...they are all battling for the Race to Dubai points. Each Way bets could pay off here.
When it comes to moving day...expect it to happen. When it comes to Each Way betting, remember you'll need them in the top 4 and it'll be 1/5 of the odds. Nothing is impossible...is it?
Russell Knox wins by 2 over Kevin Kisner. Danny Willett scores a -10 on last day to finish T-3. You would have got a nice pay out if you followed this article...by yours truly. No need to thank me...ok just a little then ;)
