Soren Kjeldson 16/1
Chris Wood 20/1
Thomas Pieters 33/1
Tyrrell Hatton 40/1
Lee Slattery 50/1
Ricardo Gouveia 50/1
Soren Kjelden produced another fine performance at the British Masters finishing T-2. He was co leader on a number of occasions. He will be looking to go one step further in Portugal this week to add to his Irish Open victory. It has been a very strong season for Kjeldson. His 16/1 odds reflects this as. A very strong bet indeed.
Chris Wood came T-9 at Woburn and was only one shot away from a payout for an Each way bet. He is looking strong again particularly at the later stages of tournaments. Expect Wood to do well in Portugal.
Thomas Pieters is also performing well after having a very good September. Two wins back to back at the Czech Masters and the KLM has seen his stock rise. A disappointing two weeks in the British Isles but with the Tour now heading back to the continent, he should feel more comfortable. A good Each way bet here.
Hatton and Slattery are both good outsiders. Slattery recently won the Russian Open and came 2nd at the KLM. He could do it again here in Portugal. Hatton has had 3 top 5's and 5 top 10's this year. His final day at Woburn was very impressive. He just needs be more consist. Could be a surprise here.
The chances are you haven't heard of Ricardo Gouveia. I wouldn't be surprised as he largely plays on the Challenger Tour. He has won two times this year and has been rewarded with a European Tour place next year. He has already stated his desire to win his home event. I wouldn't put it past him and a lot of people agree placing him at 50/1 for a Challenger Tour player.
