Zach Johnson 20/1 5pts To Win
Marc Leishman 200/1 1pt EW
Louis Oosthuizen 24/1 2pt EW
Sergio Garcia 33/1 2pt EW
Paul Lawie 300/1 1pt EW
Marc Warren 150/1 2pt EW
Adam Scott 25/1 2pt EW
Scott and Garcia both have a great record at the Open Championship. They finished in the Top 5 at Hoylake. Scott coming close to challenging at Muirfield. Garcia, possibly the greatest golfer of his generation not to win a major, is long overdue. He always gives it his all at this championship.
Oosthuizen likes St Andrews having previously won the Open when it came here last time in 2010. Plays well in ever changing conditions like we will see over the tournament.
Lawrie and Warren, Two Scots who can use the atmosphere to galvanise them. Warren is in good form but the odds justify where he should be, However, This is golf and he can make a push with the St Andrews faithful behind him. Lawrie won the Open, Ryder Cup winner but has poor form. However, I really want to see a Scot win so an emotional bet here.
Leishman is my favourable long odds bet. Under rated as a player but can be strong over the weekend once he understands the course. Long hitter and good short game. I don't think he will win but could place.
Johnson. Placed the bet after seeing in practice Tuesday and Wednesday. He is looking good opting to play the course rather than depend on long hitting. This will favour Johnson once weather gets bad. Odd tumbled after a good day on Thursday so opting for 5pts to win and hope.
In a state of shock here. Had a 4 way pay out with Johnson, Leishman, Oosthuizen and Garcia. 3 man play off kept it interesting as to how much eventual pay out would be.
Total Winnings: 207 pts. Plus 12pts in free bets.
