The other day I was handed something new. It was at the Golf Guide Tour at Delamere Forest. There I was chatting away only to find out that I was actually talking to the Director of Devel Golf, Duncan Campbell. Devel Golf had recently joined forces with the Tour and he was about to play in it himself.
When Golfhacker (who does keep himself anonymous) finally managed to catch up with the man who created Devel Golf, he handed me their latest product. Devel Golf created the awesome three-pronged pitchfork and seem intent on creating more, innovative, golfing accessories. First, they reimagined the humble pitchfork in something cool...now they are doing the same with ball markers.
At first, if doesn’t sound too interesting, then you have to remember that this is Devel we are talking about. What was handed to me by Duncan certainly caught my eye.
The Lucky Devel Ball Marker is not your ordinary ball marker. For a start, it’s a big one. 40mm to be exact. Using the poker chip size, this something that you certainly won’t lose in a hurry. What I also liked was the material. Plastic? Metal? Nope. Slate. Yes, slate. High-quality Welsh slate to be precise. It felt good, high quality. I shouldn’t be too surprised this is Devel we are talking about after all.
On one side is the Devel golf logo, on the other, a bold line. The line is not there for design purposes but to help golfers align your putts. As with their previous pitchfork, it is designed with beauty and functionality in mind.
Golfhacker first heard about Devel before they launched their first product back in November. We were impressed by that and impressed with this too. Here is a company that is really golfing accessories in a brilliant, exciting direction. Can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
The Lucky Devel Ball Marker is available direct from Devel Golf. Price £3.49
