Sometimes even world leaders need time away from the office. Prime Minister, David Cameron was the latest to accept a golf challenge from U.S President, Barack Obama.
The Golf mad President had previously challenged the UK Prime Minister back in 2010 but now it was finally game on as the two leaders played at the Grove in Hertfordshire. This is not the first time the President has taken on another World leader.
Although the huge underdog in this tussle, Cameron can still hold his head high after parring the first hole and only losing one ball for his round. Not bad Mr. Cameron. However Obama was clearly the strong player, after all, he has managed to squeeze in 286 rounds whilst being in office.
Obama gave Cameron some tips whilst going round and the pair seemed relaxed. The US President saw his 12-foot putt roll around the cup. “Did you see that? Robbed” the President said following his miss.
Whilst it is not clear who won the match, (Money is on Obama...sorry Dave) it did give Golfhacker a good idea. The World Leader Cup. Perhaps that can do something like that at the next G8 or World economic forum. I’d pay to watch that. Or a Europe Vs Internationals Ryder Cup-style match play event. Can you imagine that...Merkel Vs Putin, Cameron Vs Obama rematch, Hollande one down to Turnball with one hole to go. Now that is my kind of politics.
