Final celebrity and professional line-up announced for the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship 2017
A whole host of stars have now been announced for this year’s edition of the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship. The event which sees professional golfers and celebrities from the world of sport entertainment come together for a fantastic celebration of golf is now less than a month away. Once again, the Championship will be held at Warwickshire’s stunning Nailcote Hall with a stellar line-up tackling the famous Cromwell Course between 8-11 August.
This year promises to be the best yet with a fantastic list of professionals taking part. These include Europe’s most successful Ryder Cup captain Tony Jacklin CBE, former Masters winner Ian Woosnam OBE, World Golf Hall of Fame member Dame Laura Davies, Italy’s greatest golfer Costantino Rocca, former Open champion Paul Lawrie OBE, LPGA tour member Charley Hull and former European Solheim Cup team member Trish Johnson who is a recent Major winner with the Senior LPGA Championship.
The list of professionals also includes US Open champion Michael Campbell, former Ryder Cup player Jarmo Sandelin, Switzerland legend Andre Bossert, European Tour member Callum Shinkwin and defending BP3 champion Mark Mouland.
As well as the professional players in action the Championship also sees some fantastic celebrities in action such as former England rugby captain Mike Tindall MBE, 1992 Formula 1 World Champion Nigel Mansell CBE, Irish boyband stars Brian McFadden & Keith Duffy and Premier league greats Robbie Fowler & Andrew Cole. Also participating will be Harry Potter stars James & Oliver Phelps who are making their debut at the event.
Football Focus host Dan Walker, Strictly Come Dancing head judge Len Goodman, BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty and England’s most capped footballer Peter Shilton OBE are also taking part this year.
One of Britain’s most iconic golfers Tony Jacklin CBE is back on hosting duties for the event and is thrilled to see so many professionals competing for the €150,000 prize fund. He said, “This year we have the best line-up yet and I cannot wait to see the professional players show their skills on the course.”
Nailcote Hall owner Rick Cressman is delighted at this year’s star-studded line-up. “Every year the BP3 seems to get better and 2017 is no different. One of the best things about the Championship is that we have a great mix of professional and celebrity involvement and I think this year’s edition proves that once again.”
