The TALON MK2 training aid has opened up a whole new World of Golf, by becoming an integral part of the coaching programme at Europe's busiest driving range.
World of Golf, at New Malden, in south London, also possesses one of the country's finest practice facilities and PGA senior teaching professional Sebastian Grobler has incorporated the TALON MK2 in his coaching regime.
Grobler, a South African former Tour player, has been hugely impressed by the digital TALON MK2, which has been designed to perfect a golfer's posture.
He explained: "Every great golf swing starts with a consistent and repeatable set-up. By using the TALON MK 2, a golfer can finally see and feel how to make the correct set-up adjustments, no matter the club. This is a very powerful training aid that takes guessing out of the equation. I use it in my own coaching and also encourage my students to do the same."
The TALON MK2 - conceived and created by Teesside-based Ojee Golf - will feature in World of Golf's state-of-the-art golf studio, the Performance Centre, which uses world-leading technology to give golfers the best possible assistance with their game. It will also be included in the venue's ‘learn to play' programme - believed to be the largest of its kind in the world.
Matt Hulbert, who founded Ojee Golf with his father Paul in 2014, added: "It's a great feeling to see a product you've built and refined over last three years in the hands of the very best teaching professionals, in Europe's busiest training facility. We're passionate about improving golfers and World of Golf is the perfect platform to increase awareness of the Talon Mk2 and what it can achieve."
The TALON MK2, which is up for two awards at this year's Sports Technology Awards, uses patented technology to give a golfer real-time feedback on the four pivotal angles of address: the spine angle, club-shaft angle, Ojee angle - the difference between the two - and the angle of the clubface. It is suitable for use by golfers of all levels.
During a lesson with one of the experienced professionals at World of Golf, the TALON MK2 can be used to determine the perfect angles for a golfer's stance. During the lesson - or during regular practice if the student has purchased their own product - the golfer can recreate these angles before every swing until it becomes part of the muscle memory, which will translate to more consistency on the course.
By using the gadget in this way golfers have been shown to benefit from increased consistency with their longer clubs, as well as a higher ball flight and even increased distance.
The innovative TALON MK2 training aid delivers real-time, visual feedback through a digital display unit that attaches securely to the top of any golf club. Together with a separate, sturdy wireless back unit, the TALON MK2 utilises patended technology to remove guesswork by calculating and displaying clearly angles of address.
The TALON MK2, also recommended by UK top-25 coach Kevin Craggs, retails at £199 and can be purchased through the Ojee Golf website, via Sebastian Grobler at World of Golf, or through a club pro shop.
Lessons with Sebastian Grobler, using the TALON MK2, can be booked on the World of Golf website or by contacting him directly at email@example.com.
